STUDENTS:  

 

  • The Cutie Walk has been changed to Friday, March 6th in the gym. Get your tickets for $3 and see the most beautiful cuties ever!

 

  • The Prom Fashion Show Extravaganza is tonight at 7 p.m. in the library. Tickets are $5. You must purchase BEFORE the show as no tickets will be sold the night of the show. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Door prizes will be given away as well as THREE prom dresses! Tickets are available from Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Workman, and Mrs. Troutman. They will also be sold in the lunchroom. Don't miss this glamorous event!

 

  • Congratulations to CATS-TV! They received an Honor ranking for their show at the State Convention. Special congratulations to Daniel Kidder and Kaitlyn Pettway who received Honorable Mentions in editing and videography. Congratulations to Hudson Harris and Brittany White--they ranked 2nd place overall as sports anchors! These students beat out other students throughout the state at the journalism convention! 

 

  • Seniors: Shelton State Community College's scholarship application is now online. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 2, 2015, at 6:00 p.m.

     
  • Attention Fashion Show Models--we will rehearse today in the library from 3:15 - 4:30. Bring your shoes. 

 

  • Seniors: If you need help completing your Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) or need help with your Shelton State scholarship application, please plan to attend one of their workshops. Dates on Martin campus (main one): March 4, March 11, April 1, April 15. There are several required documents needed. See the information on the door of the counseling suite.

 

  • The DCH Foundation is pleased to announce it 2015 scholarships program. Any senior student who is interested in a career in healthcare may apply. Applications can be downloaded at www.thedchfoundation.org or see Mrs. Fox for an application. Deadline to apply is March 12, 2015, at 4:00 p.m.

 

  • The State of Alabama's College Counts Scholarship is now available. For more information and to apply, visit www.CollegeCountsAlabama.com. The deadline to apply is March 13, 2015, at 11:59 p.m.

     
  • Tuscaloosa Teachers Credit Union is awarding two (2) $2,500 scholarships to graduating seniors this spring. Applications are due to TTCU no later than March 13, 2015.

     
  • Mercedes-Benz is offering a scholarship to a graduating Alabama high school senior living in Tuscaloosa or Jefferson County who is planning to enroll full-time at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school by fall 2015. Dependents of Mercedes employees are eligible, as well. Applications are available online at www.mbusi.com. Application deadline is March 15, 2015.

 

  • Riverview Orthodontics in Tuscaloosa is offering a scholarship in the amount of $500 to a senior student who is a current or previous patient of Dr. Mike Upton. Applications may be found online at www.rivervieworthodontics.com, picked up at the doctor's office, or obtained from Mrs. Fox, 12th grade counselor. Deadline to apply is March 31, 2015.

 

  • The Mercedes/Shelton State Mechatronics and Auto Technician Training Programs deadline has been extended to March 27, 2015. Senior students must have an admissions application completed for Shelton State. Register for the Mercedes program at http://www.mbusi.com.

 

  • The group going to Dauphin Island is selling Robertson's Boston Butts for $35 to help raise funds.  Please see one of the students going or Mr. Glasgow room 2404 if you would like to order one.  Orders are due by March 5th and they will be delivered March 12th.

 

  • Seniors who have received any type of scholarships - Please let Mrs. Fox know what you have been awarded, even if you are not planning to attend the college awarding the scholarship. Deadline to turn these in to Mrs. Fox is April 17. Please turn them in as soon as they are awarded. Do not wait. Please turn them in from outside organizations as well.

 

  • The 2015-2016 Tuscaloosa County High School Cheerleading Tryouts will be March 13th. Cheerleading registration packets are available in Mrs. Pennington's room #1202. If interested, each individual student must pick up a registration packet. There will be a MANDATORY parent meeting March 2nd in the TCHS library at 6:00pm. See Mrs. Pennington to pick up a packet and for further questions if needed.

     

     
  • The Shelton State Community College Foundation scholarships are a separate application and are due on March 10, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. There is a listing online at http://www.sheltonstate.edu or in Mrs. Fox's office. There is one scholarship for a TCHS senior who wants to major in nursing. It is the Carla Mathews Scholarship for $500.  Do not let this money go to waste! Please apply and let Mrs. Fox know, if you have done so.

 

  • Sophomores:  If you would like to apply for Forerunners for next year, see Mrs. Hogue in room 1414 to get an application and more information.  Forerunners is a program that emphasizes leadership skills and community awareness.  You must have at least a C average, leadership skills, good attendance, no discipline record, and references.  The deadline to submit an application to the Forerunners Office at the Chamber of Commerce is March 26th.  

 

  • APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR 2015-2016 TCHS AMBASSADORS.  THIS IS OPEN TO CURRENT JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES.  YOU MUST HAVE A “C” AVERAGE.  SEE MRS. DUNN IN ROOM 1415 FOR AN APPLICATION.  APPLICATIONS ARE DUE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11TH BY NOON.

     
  • Attention sophomores: Jostens will be on campus next week on Wednesday, March 4th to present information to you about class rings. The meeting will be in the lunchroom at 1:45pm. Please make plans to attend.

     
  • Seniors: Jostens will be on campus Thursday, March 26 to present information to you about graduation announcements and supplies. The meeting will be in the lunchroom at 8 am. Please make plans to attend.
