  • Seniors: An admissions counselor from Auburn University will be in the cafeteria to answer any questions on Friday, September 19. 

  • Any senior interested in attending Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn State, or Stanford may attend an informational meeting on Monday, September 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Birmingham Marriott on Grandview Parkway. RSVP at www.exploringcollegeoptions.org.

  • Stop by the cafeteria to see the admissions counselor from The University of South Alabama on Thursday, September 25, during your lunch period. Juniors & Seniors, this is your chance to ask any questions.

  • Any student interested in an ACT Prep class that will be held on several different dates in October at Cornerstone Full Gospel Baptist Church can see Mrs. Fox, 12th grade counselor, for more information. The class is being conducted by the Tuscaloosa City Council PTA along with UAT NSBE. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Cost is $60. 
  • Soccer tryouts will be conducted the week of September 29 - October 3.  All athletes must complete a registration packet and be academically eligible to play prior to trying out.  See Major Summers this week to get a registration packet.


  • FTA will have its first meeting September 25 at 7:30 AM in Mrs. Costanzo's room. All members are to attend. We will elect officers at this meeting.

  • There will be a French Club meeting Monday, September 22nd from 3:15-4:00 in Madame Davis's room. We will discuss Homecoming and T-shirt designs. We will also hear from a French student who spent the summer living with a family in France. You don't have to currently be in classes to be in French club, so come on! You don't want to miss it!

  • There will be a Fan Club meeting Wednesday, September 24th at 7:25am in the library. We will be discussing upcoming events and leadership council. Bring your $5 dues to this meeting. See Mrs. Black in the library or Ms. Davis room 2605 for more information.


  • TCHS - Please donate to "Win over Cancer-Win over Hillcrest" donations are taken daily in the cafeteria by any administrator.  (until 9/26)

  • Teen Mom Meeting Friday, Sept. 19 during 4th period in the community room.

  • TCHS has a new fashion club--the TC Vogue Club! If you love fashion and want to participate in events and activities about fashion, join the club! See Mrs. Evans or Mrs. Troutman for an application to join this exciting club.

  • CATS-TV is selling t-shirts! Get yours today for only $12!

  • Attention Writers! Enter your Halloween story to the TC Writers Club. The story should only be 1-2 pages typed. Make it scary, but still school appropriate. Deadline to turn in your story is October 20th. The winner's work will be posted on the TC Writers Blog and an artistic interpretation of your work will be designed by a TC art student. The story and the painting will be showcased in the library during the week of Halloween.

  • The library will close Friday at 11:00am.  The librarians will be attending a meeting. 


  • Dropouts are more likely to apply for and receive public assistance than graduates of high school.  The tassel is worth the hassle!
